Marana
Who: A company that produces, jars, and sells their own high-end honey. The company serves to fund the education of college students.
What: Name, logo, branding, label design.
For this project, I was able to work hand in hand with the board of a smaller College to meet their needs. They were intending to start a honey production company to help fund the the education of their students. The main objective for me was to create a brand identity that was high-end, natural, and luxurious. They are a faith-based college which was a large inspiration in their brand identity. I did extensive research to find an elegant name that can reach a secular audience, yet be meaningful for them in their faith. “Marana”, in its native Greek tongue, translates to “O, Lord Come”. The religious and educational foundations of their organization inspired the rest of their branding as well. The logo is a hexagon to portray the shapes that make up a piece of honeycomb, while the spiraling design is supposed to convey the forward-looking educational mission of the business. The phrase “For the Future” was created to showcase these ideas on the label as well.
